+1 to this! Just drove home from the dealer with the update and 100% agree.I must be easy to please, because I'm absolutely loving the Super Cruise and Surround View. SC requires a giant leap of faith the first time you engage it, but is fantastic once you get over the initial scare. This is my first exposure to it and Surround View so I have nothing to compare them to. I'm finding surround view incredibly useful for centering myself in tight parking situations and backing into spaces.
It isn't an option for the 2023 (or 2024) at this point. For 2023 it was removed from the order guide, and for 2024 it was never there. Could it come later (free or paid), sure. But no details, and GM hasn't stated this will ever return on Lyriq.I don't understand why the recording feature has not yet been implemented even with the super cruise/surround vision update. It's recording. There are cameras. There's the SD slot. What's so hard? Does GM have no other cars that feature recording?
I really hope the recording feature is implemented. I think it's a very important feature, even more than HUD in my personal opinion. After seeing how tesla cameras/sentry mode works, I don't see why they wouldn't want to implement the feature to be competitive - especially since the hardware is already there! It isn't an option for the 2023 (or 2024) at this point. Overall Surround Vision is functional now, but also not as fancy as some of the other competition (or what was originally showed on concept Lyriq - with a more 3D perspective). So that may be something that still isn't quite done, and who knows - recording could be on the roadmap at some point also, after the many production issues are sorted.

Agreed. I’m gonna guess mid to late year for its implementation.I really hope the recording feature is implemented. I think it's a very important feature, even more than HUD in my personal opinion. There are no other cars in production that are on the same platform yet. Soon though.I don't understand why the recording feature has not yet been implemented even with the super cruise/surround vision update. It's recording. There are cameras. There's the SD slot. Same. I was holding out some hope that maybe this update would activate it. Not looking forward to sticking a dash cam in my nice Lyriq one day, but also don't want to be without one. Just a few days ago my dash camera caught an incident on the road that has saved a good friend of mine from a 'he said she said' type of claim (I happened to be on the road behind them). When I originally purchased my dash cam it paid for itself in the first month when I was the recipient of a hit and run. Insurance saw the video and wrote it up as 'uninsured motorist' which cut my deductible WAY down. There are other stories over the years too....I really hope the recording feature is implemented. Count on them having the car 1-2 days, from what has been stated here. Not an easy update apparently, and can take longer if the car doesn't cooperate (goes to sleep in the middle).brought in lyriq 12p for the update since I saw available appointments. when I called in the morning the gentleman said he won’t take it today. Should have just made an appointment online and dropped it off in the morning. Anyways service department closes at 3p and they said it takes 4-5 hours for the update. so will need to leave the lyriq and pick up Monday. Anybody else experience different turnaround time? Obviously the 4-5 hours is a guess so who knows.

Probably to large of a package to install all at once over OTA, if GM does do an OTA update for Super Cruise it will be split up into parts.Wonder what it is about the update process that makes it so difficult and troublesome. Dunno if it bodes well for the OTA process.
