Sunroof+Black or NoSunroof+platinum

Alright well Im buying a V. From a dealership in Florida. I had been talking to Marcus, in Texas, but we cant seem to work out transportation of the vehicle. So....here are my 2 options:

04 Black - 11,100 - No sunroof - Certified pre-owned. 38,500

04 Platinum -7100 -Sunroof - Regular Warranty 39,100

I really think the car looks WAY better in black - but no sunroof, I havent owned a car yet without one. Does anyone own a sunroofless V and wish they would of gotten the roof? Or is it just extra weight and even the people that have it - do you relly use it?
I believe the above prices are fair from dealerships. I just need input.

The first thing I do when I get in the car is turn off TC and the next thing I do is open the sunroof; even on 100 degree AZ days. Even though platinum is faster, you will regret buying it w/o the sunroof, especially if you haven't owned a car w/o a sunroof IMO.
4k less miles plus a SR for $600? And the faster platinum color? Pick that one, and start negotiating.

"Even though platinum is faster"

FACT????????????????????????????????????????????????/
Research both cars, sunroof not important. There are people in here who can run vin numbers.Just ask and support the forum. Those prices are ok but not great if you no nothing about the cars.
Who said I knew nothing about the cars? I have researched both of the cars beyond what most people do as research. Im going to look at and drive the black one tomorrow. \

Im leaning towards the black - it looks meaner IMHO - in silver it looks too much like the caddy my 90 year old Gma should be driving - its wierd how such a small thing as a color can make people (me specifically) view the car totally different. Maybe the platinum just takes more getting used to THO. Cause black is pretty easy to love on any car.

I just think the cars lines look way better in black. Plus if I powdercoat the rims black, Ill be in one sick V
Absolutely get the Black one. It's the color you want; go no further.

I have a sunroof and I'd get rid of it in a second if I could get my money back out of it. Hell, I'd probably get rid of it regardless.
got my 04 V with just about the same mileage, fast black, for 39k w/o the roof. Don't regret it. Matter of fact, I told my dealer I didn't want a sunroof.
Get it in black. It even looks fast when it's parked.
black much nicer color...and i love my sunroof...so tuff choice...so wait till u find black with a [email protected]!!!
I really would wait, but Ive been trying to find a V for a while. And if you knew the history....bought one in New Orleans....3 days prior to it be shipped to me Hurricane Katrina did its work. Then I was involved with Marcus in Texas to purchase his V...Hurricane Rita....although it didnt do damage, Marcus and I could not find a easy and cost effective way of me getting the vehicle, because I wanted to see it. So, now I stumble upon these two.....CAN ANYONE ANSWER....IS THE PLATINUM REALLY FASTER or is that BS>.....

IT IS ABSOLUTELY FASTER! -- ESPECIALLY WITH THE SUNROOF AND THE GREY INTERIOR ;)

Ben
I only accepted a sunroof b/c my wife wanted it. I would rather not have had it. I wish I didn't have it every time my hair brushes the roof liner - and it happens a lot. If you prefer a more upright seating position, it's something to consider. If you recline a bit, you will never notice the problem. But the sunroof takes about 2" out of the headroom.

If it were me and I thought about the trouble people have had with the differential, the CPO warranty would mean a lot I think.

It is a scientific fact. The metallic particles in the paint react with the gravitational pull of the earth, creating a centripetal force whipping effect to accelerate the vehicle as it travels along the earths surface.

Black, actually not a color since it is the absence of color, is even slower because the need to be cleaned all the time if it is to look presentable. The static charge the constant cleaning leaves with the car has two negative effects; it is a repellent force from the earth's surface, thereby reducing friction and reducing hookup, as well as reducing slalom speeds, and it also attracts dust and particles which created air resistance and also make the car look dirtier even faster.

This is all documented in the literature. :cool2:
No need to be a faucking *******

Go with your original color...Black
I think you're in south Florida, if I remember correctly. Here in Central Florida, I open the sunroof in Late Oct, Nov, and part of Dec. Then again for the beginning of March. It's either too hot or too cold the rest of the time.

I still like it though.

If you buy the color you want, you won't regret it. If you buy the color you don't want, you will regret it, even it has some other features.

Now just go buy the damn thing already.

BTW - try not to be so defensive. Nothing posted above was anything more than having a little fun.

You are right, I apologize. I completely forgot to mention the photon absorption problem that increases weight and therefore slows down black cars on sunny days......
sorry, but i asked the question because other people stated that plaitnum was faster - mb the paint/clearcoat resistance. I dont know, but no need to be a jacka$$ and mock me like that.
