Suicide Doors...

6354 Views 20 Replies 9 Participants Last post by  RobertCTS
Whatsup guys,

I'm new to the forum. Just picked up my CTS luxury sport on saturday and am in love with it. Already, hard at work on the mods - I just added some 20" 's (I'll post pics shortly) and am contemplating some suicide doors. Does anyone have information on this? Or, has possibly done it to their cts?

Right now its just a thought and would like to do some more research on it first.

Thanks

I think Pietro added suicide doors to the front of his Show CTS. They make vertical lambo doors for the CTS
P.S. :welcome: To the Forum:bouncy: :D :yup:
Suicide doors with shaved rear door handles look absolutely incredible on the CTS. I'm not a fan of the Lambo door look on this vehicle platform due to the C-pillar that is visible when the suicide door are opened. We did one where we shaved the rear door handles and installed the suicide door actuators that are remote controlled. With all four doors opened........it's just out of this world in terms of look. A bit of an expensive modification due to prep, body and paint work as well as the electrical installation of the remote control actuators. But hey; cool cost cash and it is an awesome look and very stealth looking.

The vertical lambo's just look out of place in my opinion. There is also some pretty cool stuff that you can do to dress the exposed long c-pillars when all 4 doors are open with recessed LED lighting for some extra show car punch.

So Pete,
How much longer do we wait to see your show car? After the SEMA Show I bet.
Bob:
It will be at SEMA in November. We are taking 3 vehicles with us and it a rush to get everything done. SEMA is the "ACADEMY AWARDS" of restyling and you can't have a cobweb in the glove-box when they judge a car!

They actually use dental instrument mirrors on extension rod sleeves when they do an engine bay inspection and score sheet. The judging is incredible and the cars that are there are the best in the world built by some of the best and most talented builders and restylers in the entire automotive industry.

This is where GM, FORD and CHRYSLER do there shopping! And I'm serious when I make that statement that this is where the big 3 do there "outsource" shopping from the hordes of "free-lance" automotive designers and engineers for the design of the next 2007 Cadillac CTS.

That is one of the reasons why Lingenfelter and Katech engineer and design drive train componentry for GM. Lingenfelter is singlehandly responsible for the LS1, LS2, LS6 and LS7. Katech is engineering and building that V16 for the Maybach killer that might see production.

You don't think for a second that these "ideas" and engineering concepts come from some automotive engineer that's on the GM payroll do you? Not for a second my good friend.......they come from some of the best automotive mechanical engineers in the world and these guys are all "free-lance" and sell to the highest bidder!

Pete,

I know posting pics is not your favorite things..but we sure hope you post pics of your 3 cars. Are they all CTSs? Will your Internet site launch at the same time?
Bob
Alrighty, here is my brand new CTS that I'm contemplating the suicide doors for. Other plans include tinting the shit out of the back windows. Getting the E&G exhaust tips and thats about it. The CTS V grill is on its way from GMpartsdir. The rims just came this past weekend from TireRack and I think they look great. The only thing I would've done is order the tires a little bigger next time around.

I'm super stoked on the car, and for being 21 rolling in this thing ain't too shabby.

Your CTS looks awesome... Could someone post some pics of that suicide CTS?
I was thinking about suicide rear doors. Sounds really cool but i'd wana see one with them first. Also those lambo doors, they look like it would make it harder to get in the car.
I haven't seen suicide doors since my buddies Contentinal in highschool...man what a sweet boat that was...
Pete

What booth will you be at, at SEMA. I'll be there.

The show is not open to the public. You have to have a auto business or manufacture parts. This year they are getting really strick and won't let anyone in unless they have a business card or your badge says spouse.

EGTHAREAL:

Once you install your CTS-V grill ( I'm assuming that is the OEM "chicken wire" V mesh grill ), you'll have no grill for your lower CTS spoiler. We have some in house custom fabricated billet aluminum lower spoiler grills that are are highly polished billet aluminum. The entire lower spoiler grill kit with the installation hardware is $100 plus UPS shipping. Our lower billet rod spoilers are constructed of horizontal solid billet rods and add a "lot of look" to the lower spoiler grill area with lots of contrast and a far better more aggessive appearance when added to the lower spoiler area as well as some strong contrast to th upper "OEM chicken wire" mesh that is standard on the CTSV and what is typically retrofitted on the standard CTS once you remove your OEM plastic upper grill.

On my personal CTS-V, I removed the OEM wire mesh grill and replaced it at first with an E&G mesh grill and then later a custom polished horizontal billet rod grill and then had each of the billet rods anodized and then diamond cut which added some highlights to the polished billet.

The E&G wire mesh grill is of far better aftermarket quality which is why it retails for twice the price of the OEM wire mesh V grill. The E&G wire mesh grill is of a much heavier gauge wire; it is constucted of stainless steel and then hexavalent chrome plated. In contrast; the OEM wire mesh grill is of a much thinner gauge polished aluminum wire with the thiness of poulty wire.

If you have any interest in a horizontal billet rod grill for your lower spoiler; please email us and we would be happy to answer any questions that you might have.

Good questions Bishop. I've been working hard to get Pete to post pics.
He has a helluva price on a chrome engine cover. He also will do the fuse box cover and the new style radiator A/C cover. It's a group buy offer.

Here's the grill.
I like that grill, not bad. Good alternative to the Vgrill. What was the price again?

The engine cover is a group buy at $200 if we get 10 orders. We only have two so far. Pete also does the fuse box cover and the new hard plastic Radiator cover. They too are discounted if you order the group buy. The Grill is $175 and $75 if you order the engine cover.
Well I dont think the Engine cover works for me, since I have the 3.2L
