If the sub itself makes a rattle noise everytime you turn it up, probably blown..its kind of a junk sub..

Otherwise probably just something losse back there..

Any idea on how to remove the sub on an 05?

Yeah it depends if you have rear fold down seats or not..if so I think hou can get by just lowering the seat...

Otherwise.

1 remove bottom seat coushin, easy just pull on front
2 remove seat back from car. Bolts on top in trunk, bolts on bottom in cab
3 remove both rear c piplar covers, clipped on..or may be a screw behind the airbag symbol..thats just clipped on.
4 remove front clips on the sub cover and pull it out
5 you'll now see the sub, unplug it, then remove screws sorrounding sub on the mount bracket.. (not the sub)

Thats how I did it anyways..sorry I cant be more specific, I'm doin this from memory.

You may be able to get away with just removing the sub screen cover but I had other rattles in there I wanted to cure as well. Im not sure on that statement though.
