The subject line says it all.... btw, i drive a 96 STS completely stock, and my friend drives a 93 vr4, and he wants to race me from a roll say from 50+, anyone know how the outcome might be? will it be close, or would he have me by buslengths?? thanks

You mean the twin turbo 3000 GT? Don't bother - no chance. Them are quick once they get into their revs.

I say go for it and have some fun. If it's stock it might be close/not too far off. 3000gt vr4s are very fast off the line but they are not supras after you get up to certain speeds.

STSPWR,

I think your fixin to be part of a kill story on the vr4 board. Maybe try you rollin about 40 and him parked in an 1/8 mile run. Then you might have a chance. Thats one of the quickest cars I ever drove. Good Luck Anyway.

Race him from 20mph and you shouldn't look to bad.. From 50, I don't know.. From 20, you've got lots of power.. I don't know much about the VR4, though..
racing him from down low will be a very bad idea as he has awd which will be easier to put down all the power that his car is producing.

Race him the VR4's are highly overated, they are only quick from a dead stop. The STS is quite the boat but so is the VR$ weighing close to 3700lbs. From a roll of 30 or so you should be able to hang if not take him if he is close to stock they are AWD so they lose more power as the speeds rise. I had a mean GS-T before the caddy and walked a few Vr-4's myself from a roll, sure the GST was a bit faster than the ETC for now but, go out and race, it wil be closer than you think. Also coming from a former Mitsu owner, they make fast but shitty cars I will NEVER own one again!

Welcome aboard, Infamous Lac! Thanks for signing up..

As for the race.. He may still lose from 20mph on, but he wont look bad.. The AWD hooks up nice off the line - yes - but it's not like the STS is going to be fish-nosing :p from a 20mph roll...
