just hack them their close to the same thing...not plug and play but it is doable...The car is STILL in the shop (3 weeks now). Some stupid bia hit me which is why I'm getting the whole new front end...
Anyways I ordered the STS-V Fogs from Lindsay Cadillac and brought them up to the shop so they could install them in the new CTS-V Bumper Cover. I went to CadillacFAQ ahead of time and printed out the instructions to assist the shop. Now my problem is that neither the STS-V Fog bracket or the CTS Fog Bracket will mount into the CTS-V front. I went up to the local dealership and they told me to get the CTS-V Fog Bracket I need to order the WHOLE Fog assembly. There's got to be another way around this.
Can anyone help?
You can use CTS, CTS-V or STS-V light assemblies. Using CTS-V (customized) or STS-V lights requires that you remove the mounting brackets from your original lights and install them on the "new" lights. My custom lights are actually from a CTS-V, so I've done it. Easy job. I also retained the clear bulb for the DRL/signal - looks cool and I'll keep it that way unless ticketed for it.luvmycaddy i have a question for you. I have a regular CTS front, is it the same installing the STS V fogs or is it easier for the non v front bumpers? I am curious and do I have to remove my bumper to install these? You seem to know a little about the fogs. Also hah another dumb questions since there clear what bulbs do you have? Im guessing one orange/1 hyper white or something

yeah you just gotta get creative....but yeah cut the bracket all the way down on the bottem and about half way down on the nose at the top........the top screw is in the same place so you just gotta make the bottem line up which will entail drilling a hole in the bottem of the bumper.....not visible though....like i said just use your imagination.......I think I'm.
Cut down all 3 mounts on both Brackets? Is there still a way for them to mount in then?
Oh, and BTW, thanks for your help Brentman (and 2004CTS)!

after you cut the bottem things hold it up to the bumper and you will see what to do from there......other people have retrofitted the stock cts ones but since you already have the v-brake ducts you might as well use those
no problem it will also help to have 2 people....i did mine by myself and would have been much easier with 2 people :worship:
:2thumbs:
Trust me... Towelie helps me with EVERYTHING. :thumbsup:YOu can always call Towelie for help

to make it plug and play...yes.....are they a must? no but it would make it easier. However will cost over 250 bucksSo if wanted sts v fog lights on a cts v bumper i would need cts v brackets?
Yes, you basically need the mounting brackets that fit your bumper (be it CTS [V6] or CTS-V). If you change your lights, just keep your brackets. Simple. So if wanted sts v fog lights on a cts v bumper i would need cts v brackets?
no you canti thoght you could not just order the brackets( i think thats what he is asking)
Yea, last night I finally did end up getting it all to work. Thanks to you guys. Like Brent said, I had to shave off the bottom 2 mounts, half of the top nose, then I put the screw in for the top mount, pushed the fog light flush with the bumper then threw a longer screw through the bottom of the bumper up into the air duct space. That light isn't going anywhere. I LOVE the clear fogs.
Now I just need my Sports Grille painted. I told the shop to paint it and they never did, so they said they'd do it next week. I have a Silver Smoke CTS with a Light Platinum Sports Grille. It's funny to me but everyone I've shown it too says it doesn't look bad.
