Welcome to the nobody on that forum actually provided any answer to the question club
Well, there isn't an answer to that question. Carter's response was alluding to the thread that could have helped you out. Your misadventure was that you weren't a member of this forum beforehand. Had you been and had followed that thread, you would have known to keep power to the vehicle while replacing the ailing battery.

Also if you go to the latest posts in the thread you will read that Denso is working on a fix and will have one out pretty soon for 08-11 models, but they don't have a solution for 05-07 models yet.

Sometimes some of us just get tired of having to repeat information that is already available, especially when we've been discussing this one for so many months.

Because there is no fix.........So if you did indeed read the whole thread, or at least the last few pages, you would have seen there is no fix yet. I wish my clock was working also. Mine did come back, but then I had an issue with my shifter at almost midnight that forced me to disconnect the battery, or it would have ran the battery dead in several hours, and I would have lost the clock either way.

Nobody knows........But I would say yes, a trip to a dealer will most likely be necessary.

Probably. We don't know yet until Denso releases new firmware. Previous updates required 2 CDs and a Tech II device, which most people don't have.

Denso has not yet eluded to how a fix will be distributed.

2009 STS was worked on by Cady dealer in R.I. After extended battery disconnect, my day, date and time was lost. No ability to enter time and the GPS icon is lined out. The dealer knowing he's responsible, spent a week doing the research. Bottom line, either the control module in the trunk or the radio itself will need replacement. The firmware gets lost after the battery disconnect and the NEW satellites that came online through 2012 do not synch the clock's GPS and thus no time. I'll update after the dealer takes the car back and attempts a fix.

Some psychologists could use this forum/thread to study the insanity of people only reading what they want to and going down a completely wrong path instead of just reading and learning the answer they're looking for.

It's actually kind of frightening that people behave this way.
BUT MAH SITUATION IS DIFFERENT
