I know what most like crutchfield and metra say. But I can say in my case the front doors are 8in the back doors are 6.5in. The dash has a 3.5in in center and 2in on sides. The rear deck has a factory 12in. It now has Rockford T1 5.25 in the doors and 2 P3 12's and a full factory amp bypass.

That is why I said there are 8 inch in the front and 6.5 in the rear doors. Those are the stock size. Metra and crutch field will tell you they are 5.25. That is not true. In my case on my 1998 Seville SLS it has the 3.25 center channel the 3.25 left and right surround in the dash 8 inch in both front doors and 6.5 in both rear with a 12in sub in the rear deck. That being said that is the stock speaker sizes in my car. The car does not have factory speakers it has rockford fosgate T1-5.25 in all doors because that's what Metra and many other sites said it had.

I'm not here to argue with you - BUT - you are MISTAKEN -

the BEST way to find out what your car left the factory with is to check the RPO - Regular Production Order - sticker
located on the underside of the spare tire cover -
then go here to decipher the 3-character codes -
GM RPO Lookup -

you should find UX8 for the non-BOSE system -
and UX9 for the BOSE system -

if your car has the BOSE system -
the ORIGINAL front door speaker is part number GM25717924 -
it was used on 1998 through 2004 - BOTH models - STS and SLS -
and used in BOTH front doors -

if your car has the non-BOSE system -
the ORIGINAL front door speaker is part number GM16267949 -
it was used on 1998 through 2004 - BOTH models - STS and SLS -
and used in BOTH front doors -

EITHER CASE - the STOCK front door speakers are 5.25 inches in diameter -

WITH MODIFICATIONS -
you can fit a 6.5" diameter aftermarket speaker in the stock location -
BUT - there is no-way-in-hell to fit an 8" speaker in the front door stock location -
SO - there is no-way-in-hell that the car left the factory with 8" speakers in the front doors -

The Bose systems use extremely low impedance speakers with oddball driver amps. Supposedly voiced to sound like acoustic instruments in a natural space. In the home audio business we had a phrase - "It's a Bose: No highs, no lows!".

As a past home audio tubeaholic and long-time speaker builder - dynamic speaker sizes are sometimes wildly optimistic when it comes to actual cone diameter. It's all advertising and when it comes to speakers some believe that size matters. For woofers - yes. mids and tweeters - nope (within reason). Subwoofers - 15" or greater or dual/triple 12" installs - are a different world. Subs reproduce frequencies from 30 Hz down.

Madisound has a pretty comprehensive line of sound stuff.

The stock speaker size on my front door was an 8 in woofer. That's what I'm saying. It has 5.25 in it. That's what was put in there because everything said and led me to believe it was a 5.25 up front. When we pulled the panels and removed the speakers it was an 8 in woofer. When I replace the window regulator on the passenger side I will post pics of it. I would not be saying this I didn't know 100% this to be true. Also the rear doors had 6.5 and everything said they were 5.25. So since i had order the Rockford fosgate T5.25's for both front and rear doors I did not want to wait for the speakers to have to be reordered and cause more work since I was already in there. I know what everyone says but I'm telling you it was an 8in woofer stock in the front doors and a 6.5 in the rear.

Now this came from popular mechanics magazine so now say I'm lying. 8in woofer up front, 6.5 in the rear and a 12 inch in the rear deck. Along with whatever is in the dash up front.

never said you were LYING - I said you were - and are - MISTAKEN -

let's just say that IF your car DID come with 8" speakers in the front doors -
you have a very - VERY - VERY - RARE car - possibly a special - one-of-a-kind - prototype -

I wouldn't say it if it were not true just putting the info ot there and I know it had that system. When I replace the window reg I will take pics. When I can get the box out the trunk to take a pic of the RPO codes I will

Bose stock rear 6x9's are 100w rms @ 2ohms, same for the amp connected to them. Powerful in theory but they're paper crap, JBL and Infinity make speakers that match the amps. Ask me how i know.
==================
your Eldo BOSE system is completely different than the Seville/Deville system -

BOTH non-BOSE and BOSE systems - 1998+ Seville and 2000+ Deville got a single 12" woofer in the back deck -
5 1/2" in the front doors and 6 1/2" in the rear doors -

SOME also got tweeters in the "A" pillar -
and another small woofer in the middle of the dash pad -
