Still searching for a nav unit...Been away from the forums
for one or two months...sorry to see Tomm unloaded his nav..
would have taken it in a second...let me know if anyone
has come across a seller lately...

I have an 04 cts WITHOUT nav. Im trying to put nav in it. I have looked over the instructions on cadillacfaq.com. I have also tried to search this forum and read everything in this sub-forum and the audio/visual sub-forum and couldnt find anything. This should be a sticky!!

What models of nav will fit in which car? I called the dealer yesterday and they gave me the complete run around. No answers to anything.

Is there an application guide? Does the wiring inside the car matter or will following those instructions be everything i need?

If someone can point this newbie in some kind of direction, Id appreciate it!!

Looks like when i searched for "nav" and it came up as no results, it come up like that because i was a toolbox and there were TOO many results for it to list so it just barfed.

I found that any late '03-07 nav will work. The later the better for the firmware upgrade to read the new map DVDs. Also to follow ReedsFAQ for the install.

Is that everything? Doing that should do me right?

Any model nav can go into any cts. If you have the early 03 cts though you have a different color dash (grey) and all dvd based navs (late 03 and up) are black.

I have a 2005 nav in my late 03 cts with the black dash and it works great.

Dealer isn't going to be any help on this, and you only need them to unlock it once you have it installed.

easiest way is to win one off of ebay, there is a member here that supplies the 1 wire you need if you become a supporting member. after you get the nav, wire, antenna, and map disc read this thread. This was the most detailed discussion of it ever...

RobertCTS....not only did I miss Tomms unit but also AsaKas...I'm
getting depressed...the large complication has been my 06 woodgrain
interior...matching that has beena nightmare....Need divine help
to get a woodgrain bezel now...
