Does anyone have an actual picture of the lock pin or lock mechanisim that keeps the steering wheel from moving when the key is not turned?

Is this some thing that is directly inside the ignition lock cylinder case? Im looking to do a keyless setup and have found that this will be my only real hurdle from making it a complete keyless push button system.

I've found that the C5/C6 has bypass boxes but the CTS/CtsV is not an electronic lock I beleive. The alldata info is a little vauge, and doesnt say anything in regards to the actual lock mechanisim itself.

Thanks!

I'm not sure if you can't just install the C5 bypass kit. I installed this on my 02 Z06 and have never had the lock problem. My previous 02 Z06 did it but I got it to free up. Then immediately installed the bypass. The GM answer is to let the dealer actually pull the shim/pin out of the steering column so it can't lock even if the signal in the lock system says to hold it. That was done under recall quite often.

This is the kit I used. Simple and works fine. I haven't heard of this issue with the V though.
