I am importing a car from NY State to Canada. The car has to have a Statement of Compliance sticker on it. I have the seller and he emailed a picture that does not seem to be the correct sticker. I am hopeful that someone could locate this sticker on their car and let me know where it is. Better yet, maybe take a picture of the sticker so I can show the seller what it looks like.

The U.S. Statement of Compliance (SOC) label is usually found on the inside of the driver’s side door pillar and states that the vehicle complies with all applicable U.S. motor vehicle safety standards in effect on the date of manufacture. Vehicles must have an official U.S. Statement of Compliance (SOC) label when they cross the border for import.

Thank you.

And then you have to take it to Crappy Tire and have them certify that it meets Canadian Standards. We imported a low, low mileage loaded 2002 STS from Texas a couple of years ago for my son.

Canada never seems that foreign until you run into legal stuff.
Wait till you move across state lines and try to register it - one of my cars had the door repaired and no sticker. $50 and an inspection by an idiot, finally allowed me the pleasure to get a local plate. It's not just Canada.
