I have a 92 Cadillac Seville. Car has been a complete nightmare the last 2 years. It’s currently having an issue starting. It turns over but doesn’t want to start after I’ve already had it running. The first time I start it for the day it starts. But after that it won’t start unless it’s been sitting for awhile. Spark plugs, starter, battery, alternator, fuel pump and fuel filter have all been replaced within the last 6 months. Last night it died as I was pulling into the parking lot but then this morning it started right up. I drove it home and now it won’t start again. I don’t think it’s a neutral safety switch because the engine does turn over and the starter does crank when you turn the key. I feel like it’s a fuel issue or a vacuum issue but idk. Any and all help is greatly appreciated.

Which engine?

During a no-start event narrow the problem down to fuel delivery or ignition - if the engine will briefly fire with a shot of starter fluid into the intake then it has spark but no fuel. If the spark plugs are wet and the engine won't fire at all it's probably an ignition problem.

Have you ever had security system troubles - that can lock out either/or ignition and fuel.

It’s a 4.9L I’ve narrowed it down to a fuel pressure issue. But now it’s having a power issue i can’t seem to track down

Might want to start with a fuel pressure check. It should be in the 40 psi range.
I tested the fuel pressure yesterday and it’s in the low 30s so I’m going to check the injectors. Fuel pump and filter are new, I had that done back in March. But now it has a power issue. I turn the key and the lights on the dash come on. But I try to start it and it just cuts out completely. No power. Tried jumping it and checked all fuses and relays. I have no idea what the power issue is. Battery and alternator were done over the winter

Sounds like a dead battery. Anything less than 11.8 volts and chances of starting the car are very, very slim.

What does the DIC say for Key: ON voltage and what is the battery voltage when disconnected from everything ?

It was a bad battery terminal. Got it replaced and fixed the power issue. Still has low fuel pressure though. I’m going to jack it up tomorrow and check it out. I had a fuel pump and filter installed in March when I went to Florida. I’m wondering if the guy put the filter in backwards or pinched a line when he put the tank back in.

That could be. If you want the job done right....... I would pull the fuel line close to the intake to see if you have fuel then place a pressure gauge to see if the pump is at a continuous 40psi
