So I am driving along after a pleasant night out with wife and friends, in my (new to me) '96 Seville, stomp the gas to show my friend, push the info button to show that fuel milage is good on the car, and wham - it stalls out and as I coast in neutral to a stop, the message center tells me I have apossible security problem and the car might not restart. It was right, it did not restart - argghhh!! It cranks fine, but all of the park-r--n-d-3-2-1 lights are flashing or off or inside lights kinda flash 5 times or ...

What happened? It was a $70 tow and a cramped ride home in the cab of a truck. Any ideas as to what happened and how I can fix it? It still won't start!

Sounds to me like your car doesn't like you :D This is a Question for Katshot, I have never heard of such a thing happening before > did you have it floored when it stalled? I would run the diagnostics on the car 1st and see which codes pop up > write them down and then "Manually" clear the codes on the "ECM" then see if it will start. Let me know what happens ok!

Dealer says ...

I was not able to get into the computer to read diagnostics - the 800/phone support tech tried to walk me through it - said "sounds like the computer". The local Dealer says the PCM is faulty ($528 installed) and the + battary cables need to be replaced ($423). I am getting a second price ...
