When starting my car in the morning, in the DIC, I see this: STABILITRAK OFF. This goes off almost immediately and I don't see it every morning. Is there something I need to do? I have a 2008 CTS, 65,000 miles. Thanks in advance for your help.

Do you have only message on starting or stabilitrack light is on while you're driving also? If only message and everything ok while driving then check battery. I had exactly the same behavior and replacement of battery solved the problem.

Thanks....the light only comes on when I start in the morning, and it's not every morning. The battery might be an issue. I have a 2008 and I still have the original battery! I've been monitoring the battery gauge. It's still charging high but I don't want to get stranded. Hard to believe this battery has been in this long! Thanks for reply.

You're lucky with the OEM battery living this long.

Or, as Mr. Spock might say, "Ut longo vivas tempore, et bene sit".

The battery is located in the trunk where it operates at a lower temperature than under hood batteries do. Meaning longer life. I would replace it with the same type and size, making sure the battery has a vent tube capability. That means it needs to be a sealed battery like the one that came from the factory.

Unless someone moved the location in your car, open your trunk, check out the passenger side, remove small cover(Velcro closure) and shazam..... I think you will have to remove the entire panel (easy to do) to replace battery.
