So, I have determined that my 2004 SRX shifter linkage bushing is bad (it's actually gone...piece of rubber on freeway killed it) and I plan on replacing this myself. When I go to install the new bushing, should I add any grease or lubricant to it before installing? Thanks for any help...FH

Ok...I know there is a ton of info regarding the first gen SRX gear shifter linkage bushing issues on this website, but none of them answer the simple question of....does a new nylon/rubber gear shifter linkage bushing requires grease or lube before you/I go to install it. That's all I need to know, so I'm surprised that I haven't found an answer yet..........................

I have no specific knowledge but such bushings usually don't receive lubrication.
