I was trying to replace the fuel filter on my 2004 SRX V8. I managed to disconnect 5/16" and fuel mail supply lines. However, I cound not remove the 3/8" line. This filter has one input and two output lines. The clearance between 3/8" line connector and original fuel filter is less than 1/2". I got few fuel line disconnectors from local auto part store. However, none worked, since the clearance is less than 1/2". Has anyone successfully removed the fuel filter?
I also noticed than GM (AC Delco) has redesigned the replacement filter where the 3/8" line is about 3/4" long so it is easy to remove. I can only think that I may have to cut the fuel filter 3/8" line to remove.
THank for anyfeedback.
