Hi everyone, I have recently been having issues with the speedometer on my 1990 Cadillac DeVille.

I don't know if this matters, but as a background, I recently replaced the front speakers, and while doing so I bumped one of the speedometer cables which caused it to either fly back and forth or not work at all. I fixed this by putting some dielectric grease on the connectors, which worked good for a time until today when I went across a small bump in the road and it caused the speedometer to spazz back and forth once more. I noted that it would swing back and forth only when I did not give it any gas, but when I did it fixed itself and told me my speed. I thought it would work itself out but then I hit another bump, which caused the speedometer to freeze at 45 miles per hour. I am not really sure where to go from here, and any suggestions would be appreciated!

Thanks!
