I ordered the special armrest retention strap (Manual -> 1-45) for the the rear seat of 2006 SRX. Initially, the dealers themselves didn't know what the part was. Now, they are quoting $150 for installation. Is this something easy to install? Has anybody experienced ordering/installing this strap?

I have not ordered the strap but if it's the one that goes around the second row seat fold-down arm rest I just wrapped a nylon strap around the whole seat back. The strap was a leftover from some bag or something but had buckles so it could be fastened. The function appears to be in conjunction with a rear-facing child's seat that's in the middle position. In the event of a frontal crash the arm rest could come down. On the rebound the rear facing seat and child would impact the arm rest.
Can't imagine there being much installation cost.
