I will be replacing all 4 door speakers and the subwoofer. Can someone who has done anything like this please confirm if I should be shopping for 5.25" or 6.5" speakers? Also I hear the amp (bose HU) puts out 2ohm current? is that correct and if so must I use 2ohm speakers?? please advice, any help as well as door trim removal info would be beneficial.

Go to Crutchfield.com and enter all of your vehicle information. You can get installation instructions, as well as part and model numbers. 5 1/4 seems like factory, but 6 1/2 will probably fit with an adapter.

In my experience, mixing aftermarket with Bose is typically a bad idea. Bose amplifiers are matched to specific Bose speakers and tweeters (Bose tweeters are fairly unique). If you are going to replace the speakers, you should replace the amplifier or drive them directly from an aftermarket headunit.

The sub, the amplifier, and the sub enclosure are designed to work together as a system. Replacing the subwoofer and not replacing the amplifier isn't going to be worth the hassle, even if its possible.

I see your point....I am just kind of surprised more people have not undertaken this task. I have the bose system with 6 CD changer and subwoofer. I am not impressed by the sound althogh it is not bad. I guess Caddy owners are probably not the kind to want to get their hands too dirty but I have done multiple audio swaps in my own cars and it is never that difficult. It like to think the case is the same for the SRX...not presonally looking to kill the bose head unit, just need it to drive better speakers, what is in there is pretty junky for a $45k car. My 2004 honda accord EX has a better system than the caddy.
