What kind of sound?

Ticking?
Squeaking?
Humming?
Vacuum cleaner sound?

Coming from the engine itself?

Near the main accessory belt?

Near the water pump drive system?

How loud is it?

I would suspect either the tensioner pulley or idler pulley bearings. You can use an automotive stethoscope to check.

Your oil pressure comes up to where it should be and the sound disappears . . . right?

How long was the car off for and what was the ambient temperature? How cold outside that day?

Maybe the anti-drainback valve in the oil filter is not working correctly.

Oil will fill the oil filter 1st, before your lifters pump up.

That 1st startup is where you hear the rat-tat-tat and then magically goes away.

What viscosity oil are you using?
