Could anyone please tell me if the Allante originally had a headliner installed under the soft top? Also, when replacing the Allante's soft top, what would be the best top manufacturers to consider and what would be to be a good source to purchase a top from. Thanks.

There was not a headliner per se, as some convertibles have, which is strung under the bows and side irons. There is a headliner, which is directly under and in contact with the top material itself.

Thanks for the information, Bob. It appears that there are several companies that manufacture soft tops for the Allante but they all seen to offer the same types of fabrics, stayfast or the sonnendecke or sonnenland.

The Robbins tops were OEM at the end of Allante' production. Robbins makes three different materials for Allante's: stayfast canvas, sunfast G canvas, and German cloth. Robbins recommends the Sunfast G top as the best of the three. It is priced between the cheaper Stayfast and more expensive German cloth. There are some aftermarket tops available, but Robbins is the way to go. The Robbins tops comes with new side tension cables and new escutcheons for the corners. The headliner is what you see from inside the car. It is sold as a separate item. I do not know if other brands of tops include this or even offer it. All we handle are Robbins tops.
