5261 Views 89 Replies 23 Participants Last post by  VelieVer ttt
I know a lot of guys may be out of town, but Dreamin is makin' an appearance in the LA area, and I owe him a beer...

So, on November 26th (saturday after thanksgiving) there will be a mini meeting/meet either in the Santa Monica Area or the south bay area.... I will figure out where when I know who is coming... (I am thinking lunch at Titos Tacos in culver city.. but I am open to suggestions...)

Time will be 11:00-1:00 (just a quick lunch so we can get on with our shopping)

Anyone who is going to be around interested? Post here if you are and I will keep you updated in this thread...

Condolences for your loss Lawfive

I'd love to go, but MORE SOUTH would be great!! :)

It's going to be one heck of a drive going ~100 miles south of LA (from Ventura) then back up again, then back down again...ugh
First, stay strong Jerry. Let us know how we can help you get thru your loss.

Luna, you're trippin. :yup: I might be going down and my drive is going to be 5 hours. So 5 hours there, hangout, and then 5 hours back. What am I thinking?:crybaby:

Thanks guys. Just hanging with all the familiar voices is a comfort.

Luna: I've done the back and forth from Ventura to Corona now maybe 300 times since July 2003. It's a piece of cake. 126 to 5, to 210, to 71 (a few signals on the 71, but then it opens up). The total is two hours or less, even in morning rush hour traffic. No sweat on the weekends (although on the weekends other routes may be wide-open, too). If they do a Tustin meet then it's 126 - 5 - 210 - 71 - 91 east - 241 toll road. Bonus: large parts of I-5, I-210, and the toll road are pretty much 80 MPH+ free zones in the fast lane.

Where in Ventura do you live, and what color car? You may be the black V I've seen occasionally on the 126, or maybe the black one I saw once in a housing tract east of Kimball and south of Telephone...? I used to live on Phoenix, right across the street from there.
I'm in Oxnard, maybe we could Safari down and back! I was kind of keen on the Calabasas car show thingy!

LOL--no. I will be driving from Oxnard (Bobwhat--you and I are probably neighbors...:)..PM me when you get the chance) to (near) San Diego (on Friday), then back North! As such, my motivation was to not drive nearly all the way back up (to LA), then back down again. Based on what you just said, I think I'm not clear on where we are meeting. Corona would work much better.

I have a Stealth Gray V, so I don't think I'm the V that you see driving around up here. Bobwhat perhaps?

Unrelated note--when on EARTH will LA county pull their head out of their collective a$$es and fix the 71? ARGH!! It is SO NICE once you get to ~ the 60, but hell on wheels from Holt to there...
The meet day being the day AFTER the busiest shopping day of the year I am trying to stay away from shopping centers.. it could get very ugly (even in that HUGE lot in tustin)...

I am also trying to be sensative to those who would like to come from the LA area... Dreamin is up in Santa Monica and is in town to visit....

WOuld the long beach area work for everyone?

I dont even know who is coming.. Anyone?

there is always the In-N-out at the inglewood offramp to the 405...

Parking is not 100% great, but there is that Ralphs loading hear (where they offload the semis) we could take over....

Thoughts?

Considering OC? Irvine Spectrum could be interesting...
New guy here is in! :bouncy:
True, but lot's of parking, several good places to eat, easy to find, etc.
I am going back to my original idea of getting together on the "hill" Palos Verdes.

The French place.

Parking is no problem, the food is expensive (but very good).

On Saturday, a late lunch would be great.
You like long drives Heavy---come to OC!! :)

(It actually isn't that far, but...)
I haven't told the wife yet but, I really want to come down and meet you corny V owners. All I know is, when I get down there, I'm going to be hungry. I sure as hell don't want to go to McDonald's either. :D
It would be nice to meet other V owners. Both a friend and I own a V, so we will be coming. Just let us know where Reed. Im in Orange County, so anywhere within say 100 miles is ok. :)

Don't you guys trust each other to take the car without the other person?:histeric:

Just kidding!
Hmmm.....we need a place with good parking, good food, beer and not in a major shopping center. Any takers? "Hooters" by the Anaheim Pond, there is also a micro brewery "Smidt Mcormick" across the way.
McCormick's is okay (this is pretty much a sports bar); better than Hooters imho. Good food, parking, lots of beer if you are into that sort of thing...
