I know they did a small circulation on the internet. Supposably the car looks amazing and quite a bit different.. Did anyone save this pictures to their desktop before they were removed from the internet?

My friend just came back from testing for the new CTS. He says the new engine is over 300 HP with the new direct injection. The manual shifter is a short throw shifter and is much more crisp. No word on what it looks though. They stuck the shocks and the powertrain on a sigma platform with STS skin for the test vehicle.

One downside is that the ECM is very intelligent and any attempt to to boost intake pressure will be difficult. Aftermarket life will be pretty much dead...

We all pretty much assumed the new 3.6L would get direct injection... the question is whether or not the 4.6L will get the same power (otherwise the model differences will be too small) So assuming 45hp is from the direct injection technology we get a 255hp 2.8L, a 300hp 3.6L and a 365hp 4.6L?

As for the rear end, let's hope they don't work with anymore getrag units and go with something with better build quality and longer durability (or lets hope getrag has been severly beaten with whips and upgraded thier design)

He said they are aware of the diff problems. They all talk about it and are seeking out a beefier unit. The new unit, like the Getrag, is German made.

Yep, you're right. It's the NorthStar. I would be surprised to see that offered in the CTS. It would take away from the V sales. The 469HP SC NorthStar would be cool though!!:lildevil:

Yea, that's what I mean, for example, if the output of the 3.6L is increased to 300hp, then you're going to have to increase the output of the northstar as well (add on direct injection) Because in the STS the power differences would be too slight.

It's slated to be released in the second half of 07 as an 08 model.

This is nice supporting info but Sal has heard of an actual picture of the new CTS being posted on the internet. GM must have forced it's removal. Sal wants to know if anyone copied it before it was removed. That's the purpose of the thread IMO.

There was a picture a month or 2 ago, showing somthing that someone said was a BLS, but obviously wasn't. It was parked outside of some commercial bldg. I remember it being tan. I looked like it could be the new CTS except no louvers behind the front wheels.

Wow! Lots of excitement in this thread. The 2.8L sounds tempting: save $$ and get the same or better performance (acceleration and fuel economy) when compared with today's 3.6L. Of course, who would turn down a 300hp CTS ?? :devil:

changes I see here are a higher beltline, shorter rear deck, bigger fender flares, more rounded from bumper, engine vents on the side and a more creased appearance on the headlight, side and trunk lines
