 So...When you kill'em do they freak out? The reason I ask is...Just tonight I was on my way to the house and this guy in a Neon..No I'm serious A freakin' NEON gets next to me and starts acting like he's fast revin' it and lookin' at me. So what could I do? I hit it! took it to around 80 then shut it down. Guy pulls up next to me and starts calling me things that are not nice. He did this at three stop lights and then followed me into a 7-11...Not a good move on his part!

i smile at them most of the time. I wait and if they follow me to a store or gas station then good. All i have to do is take my top off (during the summer) and get out the car. I'm sure they will freak out if they realized that they just pissed up someone who is 6'3", over 210lbs less than 10%body fat.

When the Neon first came out, I raced one with an '89 GTA 5.7 and lost.. With light modifications, they can be quick..

Why was this guy yelling at you? He was really that mad? What would I do? I would smile/laugh just to antagonize him.. I'd do whatever it took to make him realize that what he was doing was not scaring me or bothering me - and actually giving me entertainment. I think that would be the ultimate pay-back for his nonsense...

Kills on the road with our Cadillacs are ALWAYS fun and generally unexpected by the public.
BUT, these days more and more new cars are being sold that will SMOKE our cars. It's becoming increasingly common to see new cars from the factory able to pull 13's and low 14's in the 1/4. And that gentlemen is NOT slow. There isn't a stock Cadillac out there that will come close to those times. So either pony-up some money at the speed shop, or you better get used to being more careful about who you line up next to.

I hear Ya on the performance issue, But I find it amusing to see someone freak out like that over something they set themselves up for. It doesn't make me nervous when they follow me either cause I'm 6'2" and 296lbs. and have spent many hours of my life in the gym ( At 47 I still bench 405) They just make me laugh. When I got out of my car and looked at him He just rolled up his window and left.....LOL! (Yes, That is my picture on the left!)

We get a lot of that kind of behavior here in sunny Ca....Probably ate too much Vegetarian Tofu Pizza or something!:p

I think that's what the XLR is meant to do. Problem is Cadillac (and GM as a whole) takes so damn long to bring out a new model that by the time it's out, it's either not in vogue anymore or isn't up to the current level of it's competition. Fast product developement is critical and the big machine of GM is a little slow. Tha's why fast-tracking projects like Bob Lutz has been doing lately has gooten so much attention.

well caddilac will get killed by the wrx from stop but i don't know if it will do well against it on the highway. I think i had a run against it in my gtp and it was a close one.

There is a video clip floating around the internet of sts racing a plymouth prowler. In the beginning it gets about 3 car length lead but caddie catches up to it towards the end and caddie puts its hazard lights on (i'm guessing caddie won the race)

Man. We have some BIG people here. Don't we?! I'm into weight training too - amongst other physical things. :p Otherwise.. I think the XLR is going to be slow.. 15 more horse than the STS.. Big deal.. All this waiting and talk of superchargers and all this - for nothing...

I don't race my Caddy but......

I treat my car like a lady.
I am always gentle with her and I give her what she needs.

But.....Every Friday night I drive 100 miles and back.
This is all toll way driving and it never fails that someone has to show me how fast their car (or truck) is. I usually have the cruise set around 70 mph.

At 70 mph my Eldorado kicks.
Ain't many going to keep up with it.

Tomorrow is Friday and I wonder what kind of car I will add to my list? I better start keeping track.

i think you will be proven wrong when it comes out. I think it will prolly run around low 14s in 1/4mi and 6 or lower in 0-60.
Rear wheel setup with variable cam system will prolly will let it be fast off the line too.

you guys think YOU have it bad with ricers and people thinking your slow? iam still in HIGH SCHOOL! Seems like only one other person in my schools knows anything about my car. All my friends dont listen to what i say about cars, even though iam right, because "oh dont listen to him, he drives a caddy, he can't go fast". Its funny how none of these people have a car that they car drive to race against me. They are driving me so crazy that iam getting a second job soon so i can get around 250 extra bucks a month just for the DTC project. Just wait till my hood and stuff is fixed, i'll have some kill stories! MUAHAHAHHAHA!

but if you look at its competition(SC430, SL500) it's pretty quick for the money.
If you're looking for the most bang for your buck factor then you're definitely looking at the wrong car. *points to z06*
