Ill start out by saying I recently had Goodyear replace some seals because of an oil leak. Trans was out and motor was dropped.. That was about a week ago. Havent had any issues untill tonight while driving my 70miles home after the weekend. Was about 40 degree's out, didnt drive my car all day Saturday. about a minute into the drive the car shifts (slow driving untill then). After a rough shift (quick and harsh), I lose my spedo. But digital and analog. I continue down a ways and run the diags. Came up with NAV B0001 - PCM Discrete Input Speed Signal Error. I also noticed during some shifts the spedo would come back for a second. Anyways, I cleared all codes and restarted. Shifting and speedo were fine the rest of the ride. But my question is, could it be something that was caused by Goodyear by having all kinds of things taken off my car to drop the motor? This is just my luck. Nothing ever seems to go right. But all input appreciated.

This was caused by the PCM noticing that the tranny speed sensor was getting readouts that differed from each of the individual wheel speed sensors. They obviously did something wrong when they put the tranny in place, maybe knocked the speed sensor or pulled a wire or something like that. You may need a new speed sensor, or the plug going into it.

If you're lucky, they might have just not plugged it in good.

Is the plug in a place I could maybe check and see if it's connected or has and wires pulled? If not I think im going to have to take it back in. Also why was it the trans was shifting to quick and harsh?
Congrats on 600!!Thanks

I think I would take it back to them, tell them what's happening and ask them to double check all the electrical connections to make sure they are in proper place and undamaged.

Goodyear will try anything once. But had a new code pop up with similar problems.. Speedo all over the place, trans shifting really weird (almost undriveable). Pulled over.. ran diags and cleared codes. Car was fine the rest of the ride home. New code was U1016 under UDH - Loss of Class 2 Communication with VCM or Loss of Communications with PCM. Is this related to my B0001? Have my car going back Wed. morning. Hope it makes it.

Sounds expensive, MacKiNBacK. How much does Goodyear charge for dropping the engine cradle? How much was your repair?

These cars have so many wires and connectors, I would not be surprised if they pulled something or if something came loose when they put the car together.

i would definitely look up the codes and their repairs on the Service manual, and take it to them. They probably don't have the service manual.

Well, to repair the gasket that was leaking the dealer wanted about $2,200. Would take 2 days. Goodyear charged $1,100 (you can see why the warranty company scammed me into going with Goodyear). I had my car in Friday and Goodyear had it until Wednesday. I only had 3 days worth of free rental.

I got no shame saying the company. Just want to warn against them, at least for Cadillac's. Company is Auto Services Company, Inc. They base repairs off some national base rate guide. So dealers dont work out to well for the customer.

Here go to All Data and see if you can gain more of an idea on it. It's only $25 and it gives you most of the information about your car. To me it sounds like a major wireing harness plug is not plugged in all the way. There are two serial data lines coming from each module, linking each module together in a loop, so if one section of the line is disconnected the entire system will still function. It will just send the data through the other data line (which may mean (depending on where the break is) it has to send the data through every other module to get the data where it wants).

Ill wait and see what good ol' Goodyear has to say tomorrow. Tonight when leaving work I decided to take it for a test drive before getting on main roads.. Sure enough it starts up again. So I figure just clear the codes... and go on.. no so. Couldnt get it going... Stuck in 1st. But I could manually get it into 2nd.. no 3rd though. So last thought was to give it a bit of gas and try to make it shift by itself, that did the trick and my ride home was problem-free. Hopefully it's just a bad connection. But the connection must be wiggling its way out. But if they cant figure it out ill check out alldata.
Thanks

Well I thought id update my car.. Finally got it back today. Had it a Goodyear last Wednesday.. They suggested I take it to this transmission shop they deal with a lot. So it went in there on Thursday and it took till Monday to inform the warranty company whats wrong with it. Turns out 3rd and 4th piston in the transmission's seals went bad and was leaking fluid. Input sensor went bad and power solonoid also. Clutch and plates were gone. So over all the trans has an overhauling. Total cost was $1,984. Warranty company picked up $1,450. Shift very nice with mellow driving. A bit of a harsh shifting turing hard accelerating. Guess the clutch needs to wear in. Got to go back in 6mo/6,000 miles for a checkup to make sure there's no metal pieces in the filter. Once done the warranty turns into a total of 12months.
