Hello...
The SLS has 2 top-speed limits depending on the speed rating of the tires that were installed by the factory.
Look on your door jamb to see what your rating was:

*113 with H rated tires
*133 with S rated tires
(The STS is limited...or "unlimited" to 150 with Z rated tires!)

*(to the best of my memory)

Post back any corrections for my data.

My 2000 SLS annunciates "Top speed limited - fuel cutoff" or some derivation thereof at around 111-113 mph. This occurs often. If you have extra-wide tires, the SLS active suspension, and some nice music playing—the only way to keep track of your speed is the sudden jolt as the ECU cuts off the fuel at 111 mph... probably a good feature that an operator should be able to temporarily disable in the event of a particularly good atmospheric or social tendency towards enhanced performance. I.e., pavement temperature is exactly at the tires' optimal band of operation, driver is in "the zone" and/or late for a round of golf, or the Vermont 9 highway has a fresh coat of snow on it and the wife is about to deliver a baby and you're rushing to the nearest hospital at 4 AM.

Cheers ---- and Let me know when anyone cracks the ODBII or knows if a techtool can change that setting (and others).

Crazy sh*t...take a advance driving coarse. They talk about cazys like youself. Maybe after it, it will sink in you need to join the SCCA. No such thing as fast on the street, come out to track and you'll have the doors suck off your car! All need is for you to lose it at that speed and kill me or one of my loved ones. TAKE IT TO THE TRACK BONE HEAD!

Jamler...here in Minnasnowta they passed a new law...
Run the ton they take your vehicle, no getting it back it goes up for sheriff's auction. I'd keep it well under 100 here MN. I love speed too just not on the streets...I have lost buddies doing the same stuff you are. Tracks are designed with run off room in mind. Just lookin out for ya dude. Good Luck.

how did you take the speed limiter off? i assume the car originally had somethin other than z-rated tireS?

Do the tires really have anything to do with the speed you can go?????
I thought that was ALL controlled by the ODBII
The PCM technically controls the speed limiter. Cars with the lower speed limiter did not originally come with z rated tires from the manufacturer.

Yes, how did you get the limiter off? Too many cars on the road? At 157, any cars on the road is too many. Are you talking mph? Do you value your life?
