I just changed out the rear driver's side caliper on my car. I cannot get the parking brake cable back into the notch on the caliper. Is there a good trick to compress the spring enough for me to get the cable onto the notch?

Making sure that the parking brake is released, pull outward on the parking brake cable. Use a vise grip if needed. That should give you enough slack to get the cable into the bracket. Otherwise, remove the bracket, install the cable, then reattatch the bracket to the caliper. When I do my rear brakes I do not disconnect the parking brake cables. There is just enough slack to get the caliper off the pin.
