Hey guys! How do you address sloppy steering in a 78 Eldorado? I’m used to 2” of play but it’s really all over the place when cruising on bumpy surfaces even after an alignment and new tires too!

You'll probably need to find a used paper copy of the real GM/Cadillac service manuals on eBay. Haynes and Chilton are far. far too generic and AlldataDIY does not support your '78.

It's a 44 year old car - it WILL require much expensive care and feeding. If you're worried about the relatively inexpensive process of repairing just the steering then you own the wrong car. It will be a money pit, guaranteed.
