As some of you may know I'm on my second ATS in the past 6 months. The first was repurchased by GM in January and replaced with a 2015 that is of the same subpar quality. GM just informed me today that they are not repurchasing my 2015. The purpose of this thread is to make prospective buyers aware that there are numerous quality issues and you will see that just in reading the threads. I am unfortunately trapped in this car as it has depreciated $11k in 90 days. Do yourself a favor and select a sports sedan from a competitor. Buying a Cadillac will bring you nothing but anguish as validated by my 12-13 service visits over the past 1/2 year!!!

So far they have had to reprogram the ECU due to erratic shifting at low RPMs, replace the entire air intake assembly and clamp, replace both headlights, disassemble the front of the engine due to an oil leak from the timing cover and 6 weeks later the seal failed in the exact same spot and now GM will not approve the warranty fix as they claim that it is oil seepage and a normal condition. So they won't repurchase the car and let me walk away, and as parting gift they now won't repair the oil leak that they just fixed 6 weeks ago. GM and Cadillac are a joke. The icing on the cake is I just got quoted $30k on trade on a $41k car that is 90 days old. Looks like I'm trapped in GM prison forever. At this rate by the time the car is paid off and I trade it in I'll probably have to pay the dealer to take it back out of my pocket. Also the GM rep in the Executive office was terrible. Her main goal was to close my case and get me off the phone. She actually closed it as satisfied...what a joke...clearly I'm far from satisfied!!!

I also emailed one of the heads of the dealership yesterday morning to ask for some help on the trade value since I have bought 9 cars from them and have referred a dozens customers that resulted in sales and guess what...no response!!! This entire ownership experience has been a complete joke.

well, in teh beginning part of ownership, the car loses the value most. im sure ur aware. but i cant even begin to think y they would not fix ur car since its under warranty. u dont wanna try a different dealer? i know uve heard it a thousand times about how u cant judge the whole brand on a few lemon cars alone. but im very satisfied with my ats. i wish u were as satisfied as i am. but if ur issues are really as u describe them, then i cant blame you. that sucks.

that being said, ive had my share of issues. my navi hasnt worked properly in nearly a year and a half and every time i take it in, they either cant find whats wrong with it, or they need to order a part and have me wait a week for it to get there. im not paying the payment i agreed upon just to drive a loaner so i just took the car and said screw the navi. they finally fixed it.

Yah I hear you but we only have one Cadillac dealer in my area, and to be honest they have been great and I don't really have an issue with them. My issue is really with the ATS and primarily GM as an organization. I really wanted to love and enjoy the car, and planned on keeping it. I invested money in new wheels and tires as well as an exhaust, but I am tired of being inconvenienced by all of these unscheduled service visits. I know there are many owners enjoying there cars and I'm envious of that feeling. These cars are plagued with issues, some big and some small, but the forums are littered with complaints about these cars because they do not meet the luxury standards that Cadillac touts. I'm sure this car is going to bomb the next JD Power results which will plummet values even further. No one is buying these cars today and that is unlikely to change as more reports of issues service. It's unfortunate but it's the reality. This car was developed when GM was in bankruptcy and in my opinion it was rushed to market which is why there are so many issues.

cant argue that. even for me, who is very happy with the ats and cant see himself driving anything BUT ats, ive spent way too much time in loaners. i thoroughly enjoy driving my ats since its an m6 and just a joy to drive. having to be separated from that and put into some base POS automatic ATS with a much slower engine is not something i like. im not complaining but im also not cool with paying my rly high lease payment just to drive a base ats with none of the options im actually paying for. so i def agree that these guys spend way too much time in service and not enough time in our possession.

Wondering, have you considered filing for a lemon law claim?

Apparently a lot of potential customers are doing just that year over year ATS sales have dropped over 22.5% and CTS 47% dealers can not move these cars. I picked up my 2015 Base ATS turbo, cue, heated seats and polished rims for 36K flat late Dec [ordered early Oct 2800 mi and happy with car] I have run 93 Octane only since purchase, with a lot of negative Turbo issues posted why take a chance, I own the car so I am in it for the long haul barring out of sight repairs.

It's why I buy used and either pay cash or pay it off in a year. If I can't pay my vehicle off in 12 months I don't buy it. Luxury cars lose their value very fast, and typically faster than a standard car. Cadillac is no exception.

love my ATS it has been a dream. can't say that for some other competitors in the market
I'm only a few days into my new 3.6 coupe but it's amazing ! I just got back from a 600 mile road trip and it could not be more perfect . The fit and finish is spot on and that interior design with Kona leather is jaw dropping. I picked up two clients and they all could not stop talking about hi nice the ATS is.

My experience with Caddys have been very good. My 2005 STS has over 212,000 miles and still looks and drives great. The new ATS and CTS are leaps and bounds better then my old sts and definitely more exciting then anything coming out of Germany or Japan.

about the ATS.

I have 10K on my 14 ATS luxury now and other than some peeling door weatherstripping I have yet to have anything go wrong with it, and I am typically pretty particular about things...do I wish the local dealership was a bit more convenient and helpful? sure...but thats service and not a product issue. Only other cars I would have considered are the A Class Merc or the S3 Audi.

2014 Lux 2.0T w/ manual trans here.... 21.5K mi, no problems other than a CUE update to fix a frozen Pandora app and a piece of foam to quiet the phone michrophone wind noise. Only thing I would improve on this car is the headlights. They could use some more mojo.

Otherwise, the car has been exactly the car I thought it would be. Firm as hell (I like that), neutral at the cornering limit, solidly built and nice to look at.
