Hi everyone,

previous owner of my escalade must have hit something with the mirror and broke it off its mounts..

i cant see spending $450 on a new mirror .. i keep seeing cheaper ones on ebay either without the led's or the colored housing ( that contains the puddle lamp)..

does anyone know if you pull these apart if you can just swap everything over?

( my painted housing and leds are working on my old one correctly)

well after some ebay watching looks like most of the stuff is swapable.. think ill give it a try

well,

finally got around to it.. picked up a color correct mirror on ebay for $150.. was missing the puddle lamp and turn indicator in the glass. figured ide give it a go.. worked like a charm. Upon receipt of the new mirror it was actually a new aftermarket one , painted to match.( works for me) Doing this swap my biggest concern was the wiring.. i didnt want to have to hack some stuff together. but to my surprise.. you are able to snake all the wire through the mirror without any real problems. so i took the wiring harness off my existing mirror, the glass, and the puddle lamp.. reused those with the new mirror housing.. Unfortunatly i ran into the issue that reusing some my old parts, the connections were extemely corroded so i had to put new spade connectors on. i did notice that the cadillacs have a "chrome" trim piece around the metal housing by where the mirror meets the car, that looks like it might be a pain to swap, but otherwise ide say no need to buy an expensive caddiallac only mirror.. when are the guts are swapable. ill give some cred to the people on ebay who have made videos .
