Z06...if you dont need a truck, then why would you even get an escalade EXT? If you want it for the Caddy name, then get like an STS-4.

Wow, that's like comparing apples to oranges! If you want something that is tough, and that sits-up high, get an EXT. If you want something low-slung and fast, get the Z06. And by the way, the NEW Cadillac Escalades go on sale in '07, but the EXT's won't be out until April of '08.

I have a follow-up question, why would you put a $60,000+ decision in the hands of a Cadillac board?

I have an even better idea, get an old El Camino with a big engine!
My uncle's friend has a '70 El Camino SS with a 502cid 502 horse V8. We were taking it to Carcraft summer nationals down at the State fairgrounds, and with the three of us in it, in 4th gear, at 35mph that thing floored was quicker than my Roadmaster from a dead stop with a perfect launch!!

Z06. Youd be stupid to buy anything else if you dont need the utility of the truck. The Z06 will be the best 70k youll ever spend. PERIOD.

Definatley get the Z06. 0-60 in 3.7 seconds, 1/4 mile in 11.5 seconds, 198 mph top speed. You can't go wrong with those numbers.

People here have it right. You have to ask yourself what you'd rather drive, and for what reasons. Have kids? A wife? Just want another fun vehicle? What do you want it for?

I'm in the same predicament. I've narrowed it down to either a '77 Bronco or an '06 Murcielago. Decisions, decisions...........................:cookoo:

I slipped-up there, the new Escalades will be out this spring, but the EXT and ESV won't be out until the spring of '07 (not '08, my mistake).

If you want to save yourself $20 grand, just buy the Corvette Coupe instead of the Z06. The Z06 is nice, but a bit overpriced in my view.

I'm in a similiar situation, I can't decide on buying a 1994 Fiat or a 2006 Ferrari F430.......

Overpriced? The Z-06 is putting out supercar numbers, at $75,000. Road & Track put up the numbers of about 15 cars, including the Enzo, 911 Carrera, Saleen, Ford GT, etc. The Z-06 had better, or equal, acceleration and handling numbers than about half of them. And it is only a fraction of the cost. This is just my opinion, but, the Z-06 is the best bang for the buck car on the road today.
