Have a '05 CTS-V with some ground control springs and the stock struts. One of the stock fronts blew out so its time to do some replacing. So far, all i've been able to find are the QA1's. Does anyone else make some improved shocks/struts for the V?

A small list of names would be much appreciated.

ronr - thankyou for that listing of shocks, it was exactly what I was looking for!

As to your question. yes, lowering your car places that much more stress on the shocks. They were designed to be used at the stock ride height. Once you put some lowering springs on the car, your taking the range of motion that the shock was designed for, and changing it. Most stock stocks, its only a matter or time before they let out with a lowered car.
