Ok, so I have an '06 CTS with HID headlights and washers. The wife clipped a buzzard last week and the lens and housing is shattered.
We have done tons of research and can't find a resolution. From Cadillac, just one housing is almost $1000.
I am reading that some of these kits will work and other people say they won't.

It has crossed my mind to go ahead and drop the $1000 bucks but then I would have one crystal clear lens and one that is slightly fogged from being 5 years old.

If ANYONE can give me some advice or steer me in the right direction it will be greatly appreciated.

I saw the Xenon kit on Ebay from NeonDials and I would probably be ok with that. Just wish I didn't lose the washer.

I hit a bambi in my 2001 STS, totally smashed the passenger side headlight assembly. New one from Cadillac was $914, found one at a salvage yard for $325. I'd call every yard within a 100 mile radius, you might get lucky and find one.

Use http://www.car-part.com/

I am seeing them for 300-400 on the low end. After you get your new head, go to www.cadillacfaq.com to learn how to replace your headlight. Then get a 3M headlight restoration kit at autozone to remove the etching from both of your lenses. Presto, 1000 just turned into 350 plus a Saturday afternoon and 3 beers.

Car-part.com is legit. I have used it twice and gotten some nice salvage parts.

check www.car-part.com, ebay and gmpartsdirect.com you might find something on those websites. good luck. You can try to do the lens yourself like longsnapper said. wet sand with soapy water 1000-1500 grit. rinse, throw some liquid wax on there wet sand with 2000-3000 and then buff with a high sped buffer.

You can disable the washer sprayers...I unplugged the pu$p on mine, then you just have to fine ones that take hid bulbs...or get base model housings and start splicing wires, which is easier than you may think.
