Finally picked up my escalade a few days ago. I am thrilled with the truck. Drives great, feels good but it does have a few bugs ive noticed.

The "service suspension system" thing comes up on the dash. I know they replaced the rear struts as part of the 150 point check cert. So does the computer just need to be reset? I hope its not a different susp. problem.

I was sitting in the truck with engine off, and power on calling xm to activate it and after about 5 minutes i turned the key and nothing. TOtally dead, i nearly lost it, called the dealer and told them they better sort it out.

FInally, the nav system is really buggy. I left the nav dvd in over night and the temp dropped to about -7C. Got in the truck in the morning and the nav was really acting up. The screen wouldnt switch over from the "cadillac" home screen, the radio turned off automatically. I finally ejected the disk (after a few tries, i had to hold eject for 20 seconds) and put the dvd back in and it finally worked. Does the nav act up when leaving the disc in the player overnight in cold temperatures? Does anyone notice any bugs in the nav system with their 07 ext?

Other then these issues, im loving this truck. I'll be matching the tints and installing some sort of lockpick to get my iphone working thru the truck.

the message can be prompted by any fault in the suspension system (not just in the level ride system)

what you need to do in cases like this would be to scan the car for codes (cheap parts house scanners only scan powertrain P codes)
dealer scan tools or expensive shop scanners are the only way to get the suspension C codes pulled
that will point you in the direction of what is causing that message

So I took it in, they hooked it up. Turns out one of my rear struts is not sending signals back to the ECM. Doesn't necessarily mean the strut is no good, but the electronic component that sends readings back to the computer is "out of limits" or in other words not sending proper signals all the time. Quoted approx. $1G to replace the one strut! I guess it was coincidence that the compressor had also failed around the same time or perhaps it was failed for awhile and wasn't sending any error messages (if that's even possible).

Also just to add, they charged me $77 bucks for the scan at Caddy dealership! nice eh

I would go to a technician take out the radio and have him open the radio and disconnect something inside of it to not make it work so the dealer replaces it with a new one. If you break it the dealer will have no choice but to replace it under your warranty a new nav is needed bc your nav barely works anyways get a new one. There is something else wrong besides the shock they replaced they replaced them for no reason but your lucky now and there is something else wrong compressor or hose.
