This awesome post kept me occupied for four hours reading about everything the company ever put out concerning my '07 SRX.Quite an education for me!

THANK YOU. This link provides a wealth of info...When I went in for service, I actually printed the docs that showed the SRX did have a filter in the trans, and not just a mesh screen as stated by my service tech at the dealership. It also allowed me to get the correct transfer case fluid (which is RED manual trans fluid). Easy DIY. Thanks again!!!

I can't thank you enough glake89 for posting the link to the online GM service manuals. It solved a long standing problem with a rattle I have had in my front end.

I have had this rattle in my front end for some time. My car (2006 STS4) only has 40,000 km on it so I could not believe it would be the struts or even the sway bar. The funny thing is a light brake application would stop the rattle.

I have seen many messages about people with a seemingly unsolvable front end rattle.

The problem in my case was the movement of the front brake caliper guide pins in the caliper bracket. I followed the instructions in the bulletin and my problem is solved. No more front end rattle !!!!! The whole job takes 2 wrenches and about 30 minutes.

Here is the link to the specific bulletin

In case this specific link does not work for you here is he link to the main manuals again.

It's embarrassing when your Caddie bangs a rattles over very little bump.

I hope this helps someone else.

it was a 2008 copy of the GM digital service information system (from a DVD i think)

i think it's more likely that they recieved a letter from GM's legal counsel asking to cease and desist or face litigation

http://www.gpona.com/
the domain is not down so it's not likely maintenance
(although it could be)

---

another likely scenario is that they moved the link because too many non-members were accessing their resource

the most users ever online was 140 back in 2009 (that's for their forum)
i bet this forum probably send them a lot more traffic to just that service information site
