New message displayed on dash of our 2024 Lyriq 3. “Service Emergency Calling System”. Does this have any effect on normal operations? I intend to contact dealer later today but need the use the vehicle in the meantime.

GM is having some issues it seems with the OnStar module right now. This TSB was recently posted for many of their 2025 and 2026 vehicles, Ultium EV's and otherwise. For some reason Lyriq isn't mentioned (nor are 2024 model year vehicles) - may be a miss.
Yes, anything that had the OnStar module get stuck will result in those same problems and things not working. Do you just need a software update or do you need a new module, that is unknown. Let us know what the dealer works out to resolve the issue for you.
As OnStar is a very important feature to your vehicle, we can understand the inconvenience this matter has caused. Reading through your posts, our team would like to now connect with you further and reach out to your preferred dealership team that you have set up an appointment with. As represented in our previous interaction regarding your speed limit display, we ask that you send us an email to socialmedia@gm.com with your Username and Forum name in the subject line.
I can usually get an appointment within a few days to a week - including getting a Lyriq loaner. Concierge service to boot (they deliver loaner to me, take mine in. When ready, they reverse the process.
