I often also Park remotely only to come back and find a car right next to me. Hundreds of empty spaces around and they park right next to me. 🤷♂️Yes, I would hope for this feature soon. Even here in Grand Rapids, MI, people seem to not care about those parking adjacent to them. That is why at stores I also try to park somewhat far away from anyone else. However, there have been store parking lot purse snatchings and the like, even in broad daylight, so you increase your risk by remote parking.
You forgot them also parking crooked and right on the line so it is difficult to open the driver's door.I often also Park remotely only to come back and find a car right next to me. Hundreds of empty spaces around and they park right next to me. 🤷♂️
kind of reminds me of going to a movie midweek, theater almost empty, and folks come in and sit directly in front of you 🤬
Now that the big update is out, do we know if they plan on using the cameras as security dashcams?
I am so afraid to park this beauty in a costco parking lot or similar. Scared of door dings and people scratching the car and such.
If I reasoned like you do I'd be driving a Toyota Celica lolIt is only new the min you get in it at the dealership once it leaves the lot it is just another car. I thankfully have zero emotional attachment to vehicles and don't care if they get door dings and scratches on them they are all utilitarian for me. They are a tool to get me to work and home the mall and home and to hockey and home and to holiday destinations and back. I park next to other cars in parking lots never worry about them or park away from others because it is just a car.
I never keep a car more than 2 to 3;years only reason I still have the 19 Traverse is because of the delay in the Lyriq otherwise it would have already been traded out. In those 3;years I put over 100K k on it. I drive to Florida atleast 2 times a year down to NC a couple times a year to Montreal 1 or 2 times a year so I put lots of Ks on my vehicles and swap them out often. My wife thinks the same as you she gets mad because after a road trip my cars will have napkins all over the place straw wrappers spilled tea in the cup holders fries dropped on the floor and that is just from the adults don't even get me started on the grandkids lol. I honestly only wash my car once in the spring after winter and once in the fall before the snow flies I don't care what anyone thinks of how my car looks I just drive them hahaha. If I reasoned like you do I'd be driving a Toyota Celica lol
I swap around cars a lot and dings affect resale value. Also a lyriq is a head turner, no way I want it to have scratches and dings when I'm showing it to friends and family.
Jesus, that's a lot of driving.I never keep a car more than 2 to 3;years only reason I still have the 19 Traverse is because of the delay in the Lyriq otherwise it would have already been traded out. Last weekend jumped in the car and headed to NC and pigeon forge and Gatlinburg on Fri morning drove home Sunday nightJesus, that's a lot of driving.

I average about 20K a year on my daily driver and another 10 to 15K per year on our family Suburban. LIke @Mgclvacatonmemories we drive almost everywhere we go. In fact,I can't remember the last time I was on a commercial flight that wasn't business related, it is likely over 20 years ago when I could non-rev with the airline I worked for at the time.Jesus, that's a lot of driving.
I always find it interesting how differently owners deal with vehicles. I rarely trade in a car that has any value left on it. Right now, we own three cars, two of which are over 200,000 miles and one is at about 160,000 miles. My previous daily driver was 10 years old and had 280,000 miles on it when I replaced it. Heck, I've had cars that I bought that had over 80,000 miles on them at the time of purchase.I never keep a car more than 2 to 3;years only reason I still have the 19 Traverse is because of the delay in the Lyriq otherwise it would have already been traded out. It's one of the reasons I'll likely never completely convert to EV. They are great for commuting, around town, but the road trip experience isn't there yet.
No, I'm getting a LYRIQ, but I'll also have at least one ICE in the stable. the LYRIQ will be my daily driver, and I'll use it on road trips where the charging infrastructure supports it.You’re not getting a LYRIQ ?

Basically, my rule of thumb is as long as the vehicle isn't costing me more in a year to repair it than it's worth, I continue to drive it. It is almost always cheaper to repair a car than to buy a new one.
Good freaked me out, you’re always around with good information and thoughts, I was afraid we might loose youNo, I'm getting a LYRIQ, but I'll also have at least one ICE in the stable. the LYRIQ will be my daily driver, and I'll use it on road trips where the charging infrastructure supports it.

Not hating at all but I'm curious, why not buy a cheap base model since you don't care and just use it to get from point A to point B? You can run them into the ground and rotate them out and who cares? Why get something nice and presumably more expensive just to do that?I never keep a car more than 2 to 3;years only reason I still have the 19 Traverse is because of the delay in the Lyriq otherwise it would have already been traded out.
