Hey, I'm not trying to sell my stuff here, I'm just curious how much I should sell it all for. I have the head unit and all four speakers. Does anyone know the going price for a Bose headunit out of a 1999 Eldorado? I have a buyer whos askin me what I'll sell for. Also, a range for prices on each pair of speakers would be greatly appreciated too.

Yea, the fronts include the speakers and amps in one big enclosure. I replaced all my Bose with Alpine. I used 6 1/2 components in front and 6X9s in the back. First, the shop had to rewire all the speakers and put in a custom wood panel in the door to mount the woofer, then they put a hole in the door to mount the tweeter. The 6X9s were simple drop ins. For the headunit, they used an adaptor to bypass all the computer stuff. They also had to make a custom fiberglass faceplate and they (tried) to paint it the factory black to match. I also have the speakers amped and a 15" Alpine sub all in a custom box that takes up most of the trunk. I also have the adaptor so I keep the steering wheel controls. The only thing I lost was the chime, which I don't miss all that much.

not bad not bad sounds pretty decent how much did it set you back? as for selling them odds are youll get 20 for the rears and 30 for the fronts thats how much ive seen them go for the head 50-60.

ill give you 35 for the complete fronts (im lookin to keep my stock bose amps and just replace the speakers with larger 6 inch bose ones which will require me to cut the box and if i screw it up i still have my good ones to put back in)

The rear speakers are damn near worthless. Sell them to me for $5 a piece and you're getting a hell of a deal :D

By the way, I called up BOSE, and they confirmed that the 98-02 system on the Eldorado (the BOSE one, obviously), is rated at 400W. 100W per amp/per speaker.

Same with the 96 and 97 Sevilles and ETCs they have 100 watt amps apiece too. The only difference was the head unit now had RDS, Theftlock, and a CD player.

RDS is cool, but the only results I get are "Talk" and "Country." The other genres, it never finds. Try PTY "Any" and it finds a lot of stations I hadn't even heard of, broadcasting all kinds of information.

I've never had the radio interrupted for either Traffic Alert, or traffic report.

Does the 97 have a NOAA weather radio too? I suppose it also has the DSP stuff: Driver Seat, Live, Auditorium, Talk

Only one station in my area broadcasts time, and they don't do it right (the clock is way off--someone dropped the ball).

Yea the 96 and 97s have the DSP and divers seat sounds great. RDS id like to have it but it wont kill me not to. Id love to have a cd player tho but due to theftlock i cant use a newer radio being my computer isnt programed to unlock theftlock.

It dosen't take much to wake those "crappy" Bose 6x9's up. I insulated my rear deck, (top and bottom), and those things really hit hard. I have seen the 6x9's out of newer cars go for at least $25 for both on Ebay.

Davesdeville and CadillacETC1997, I'll take u both up on those offers, plus shipping, of course. E-mail me, [email protected] and we can discuss the details. Also, I have someone asking me what I want to sell the headunit for. Does anyone know what a fair price would be?

JC316, how did u insulate the deck, and how did that improve? I'm interested.
