Ok i found a Compartment in my 2000 Seville inside the Armrest between the Front seats When you open the Bigger Compartment in the Armest there are 2 sections i noticed they are two boxes that can be removed and Under them there is a Panel that flips up and has a hidding spot that could hid things does eveyrone have this ? in there Seville

Also the door that goes from the Back seat Armest into the Trunk is there any way to open that from inside the Pasanger compartment of the car or only threw the trunk

to your second question, only through the trunk. the other question, i don't have that, but it may be because my CD changer is probably in the way.
cool thanks hmm wonder why they only put that access threw the trunk
Not on a 97 that I have found. I've already removed the center console storage bin to find electrical routings underneath it. I added a convenience light to the console as the SLS did not come with one. I did find a large unused clip that is probably intended for the on-board cell phone, which was an offering back then. No secret compartment though - and here where car theft is a problem, that would come in handy for storing registration and insurance proof.
If you flip the flid on the secret compartment, I believe you'll find two screws down there, I think it was the easiest way to allow access to the mounting screws but still close off the compartment. And the pass through from the trunk is advertised as a ski pass through, hence why they only put access through the trunk.

i did not see any screws
there

what do you mean SKI pass ?
In some states a secret compartment is absolutely prohibited and will get you jail time even if there is nothing in it. This has been thoroughly discussed in earlier threads.

If you wanted to carry a pair of skis you could drop the rear center arm rest and pass them through from the trunk into the rear seat area. Works if you need to move a couple 2x4s too.
im going to go look at a 2000 that is for sale down the road and see if it has this in it also maybe it was standard or somthing maybe that is where they would drop the cd changer down into perhaps
If it's factory it is not "secret" and thus not illegal.
I can't believe there's laws against secret compartments, even if it's your own addition... as long as nothing illegal is stored inside, what business is it of the law...

Ranger is absolutely correct- if it's factory, it's not secret. If any officers of the law have a problem with it, they can contact General Motors and complain.

well i know what im keeping in there what im keeping in there is a secret LOL
naw a stack of cash and a passport LOL
just kidding but its a good place for my GPS to store that and other stuff when i am not using it so if somone breaks in and steal the car or stealls something from it they wont find it without knowing to look there
The secret compartment in the armrest is pretty sweet but there is even more to it which you might not have found yet. I know it took me a whole year to find it :cookoo: haha. Anyhow you mentioned the door you flip up, well if you grab that door and pull straight up, that whole "secret compartment" pulls out only to reveal another secret compartment. This location gives you the ability to stuff items under the wood trim that surrounds the shifter assembly. Hopefully someone in here finds this useful, Im just flat out amazed by it :lildevil:

wow will have to try that out some time
The secret compartment you mention is casually referred to as a "smuggler's box". My 2005 Pathfinder has two of them under the back seats.

but i have had some say it is ileagle and how can it be that or a smuggler boxs if it is built in from the factory
Smugglers box is just a nickname. It is not illegal.
All of the 98-04 Sevilles have this in the console unless the car is equipped with a factory CD changer. My car came with the compartments, but they are now on the shelf in the garage since I installed a CD changer. By the way, if you want to add a changer, the harness is already down there.
chazglenn3 is correct. None of this is mystery or secret - the entire console, pictures, wiring, everything is in the factory service manual both in the body section and in the accessories - entertainment - pages.
