I have a 16V and the only adjective that comes to mind to describe the seat heater performance is anemic. I had a 02 Eldorado before this 2016V. The seat heater had two settings...low and high.
I could never use the high because it would get too hot and the low setting was always comfortable even in the dead of a NJ winter. With the 16V. I have it on the highest setting and I barely feel it getting warm. WTF?? Passenger seat the same thing. I understand that there were some improvements to the heaters in 2017. Is there a fix to get these seats warmer than they are right now/ Thoughts??

I have a '17V and the seat heaters leave much to be desired. The highest setting is passable but I don't even feel it get warm on the back of the seats. I have the Recaros which may make a difference?

I thought it was just me... it started getting into the 30's in Atlanta and the seat heaters turn on automatically but I don't even notice them. I thought maybe they were going bad but can't imagine the driver and passenger seat going at the same time. Oh well, I'll just suck it up.

I guess my question is with so much dissatisfaction out there and given that this problem is from a brand new vehicle and obviously a design flaw....I should think Cadillac should correct the issue gratis.
I am still under an extended warranty. Did not realize how wide spread the problem and dissatisfaction was,

I used to have a 16’ Recaro car and now I have a 17’ with base seats. I’m in Michigan and rarely use the heated seats. They primarily only get used when I warm up the car and the seats automatically are turned on. However my current car (17’ base seats) seems to have better seat heater. The seats seem warmer when I get in the car and if I don’t turn the heaters off the seats seem to get warm faster. I’ve also read the Recaro’s are to blame for the poor heat. I believe the improvement to the heat seaters you referenced for the 17’+ was specifically for the Recaro’s. I remember reading that somewhere.

I have a '16 with the Recaros, and I'm in the minority that has been satisfied with the seat heaters. 6.5 years of ownership and they still work well. I often start at max heat and then have to turn them down after 20 minutes or so, because they get too warm.

This comes up every year. To prevent the previous aspersions sent my way for my comments, I'm in Rochester, NY where it actually gets cold. I don't need my tush to be baked to stay warm and feel the warmers in my '16 are fine. The car heats up quickly (yes, even in near 0 temps) which is what helps most. I'm almost 73 and have noticed my slow increase in my intolerance to cold but this is one of the least important issues I can think of.

Next topic, please.

My '17 with base seats heaters work quite well, both driver and passenger sides.
