Seat belt warning Chime

I have a 06 Dts Luxary 3, I am having problems with my seat belt warning chime. I always buckle my seat belt before starting the car. When starting the car some times the chime works properly. Many times it will chime once, occasionally it will chime 3 or 4 times. I have taken the car in several times explaining what the chime does but the dealer keeps telling me there is no problem. I have even had a service writer tell me it was the front parking sensor which is a totally different sound. Is anyone else having having this problem or know of a service bulletin or repair to correct this. I know it's not major but is something wrong and for what we pay foir these cars it should be corrected.

There is a strong possibility that there "IS" nothing wrong with your chimes.
I did some testing on my '06 DTS.
Here is what I found.
With the seatbelt fastened ... turn on ignition .. if you pause at this point, it will chime "FOUR" times. Fairly slow. The seatbelt chime is faster.
How ever, if you continue to START, the chimes stop. How fast you go from "ON" to "START" determines how many times it chimes. :) I could start it with "NO CHIME" or any number up to "FOUR" depending on how fast I went from "ON" to "START."

The seat belt not fastened chime, is "FIVE" fast chimes. Hope this helps you.

Thanks for the info, I'll keep it in mind. Too bad someone at the dealership couldn't explain that, it would have saved me several trips.
If chime continues, that means you need to go on a diet. Seat belt is straining. Seat too.
