I wanted to get my 30k mile scheduled maintenance done but was wondering whether all dealerships have the same maintenance and inspection points. I know they each charge different prices but they should check/inspect/replace/etc. the same things right?

Thanks

Nope. Some garages will flush your tires and your wallet.

List:

Change oil/filter.
Check for leaks. DIY.
Air filter. DIY.
Rotate tires. Local tire shop.
Inspect brakes. DIY or prof shop or dealer.
Check fluid levels. DIY.
Pass compartment air filter. DIY.

You could do most if not all of those items yourself.
You could have dealer do those that you won't do. Have dealer report back before fixing.
You could have an honest garage look at car for items you do not do.

Depends on the confidence you have in your mechanic or garage or dealer.

There are times when I consider the dealer the real expert on certain items, but I do most of this myself--been doing it for years and years and years.

What about maintenance such as "Throttle Body Service"? Is that something that is done exclusively by cadillac dealer service departments or will a standard mechanic garage be able to do it?

By the way, what the hell does "Throttle Body Service" do for your car anyway?

Thanks in advance!

From what I understand is that a throttle bottle service would be for them to spray a special fluid down the throttle body and clean the walls and possibly the MAF.

It can improve responsiveness but it'd have to be a dirty sonvabitch. IMO
