Has anyone attempted a rust repair on their Escalade? Living in wintery New York has caused both of my rear quarter panels to rust, especially around the wheel wells, and the area where it connects to the running boards. I am following a YouTube video by ChrisFix
but would also like to hear any tips or suggestions from anyone who has completed it themselves.

Also anyone know the exact paint match? My Escalade is a off white can't tell if its a diamond white, or the summit white.

Thanks!

FYI: I will be starting this weekend, so I'll post pics!

Interesting thread. My Caddy is mostly rust free due to my particular region, but every vehicle will rust given time regardless of the region it resides in.

I will be following your progress.

would be cheaper to find a rust free one from another region
that rust you have is just the tip of iceberg.
a Nice diamond white one came in pick and pull last week.
rust free but slight damage to tail light area.
Complete interior was gone before I could get to it(2 days later).
Ive seen 5 02s in the junkyards in the last year, all minor damage and no rust.

The method in the video is for people who want to sell their car and make it look decent for a few months to a year. By the time the buyer realizes the "fix" to the body was just a bandage repair, it's too late. Plus, while that spot will never rust again, the support for that fix will and the whole thing will fall off one day, leaving an even larger hole. But by that time, the rest of the vehicle will probably be rusted out to nothing anyway, and it will be scrapyard time.

If you lived in an area where rust wasn't a concern, this would probably be a worthwhile fix. Living in the rust belt, you are just putting bubble gum on a leaking dam

Yes. I'm in New Hampshire. Salt central. I'm about to start my 06. Dog leg, first part of rocker. Cut off weld new. Panels from raybuck.

For rust preventative I use a product called RP-342. Its a military grade Cosmoline wax. I was not the first owner, so it was too late to wax up the the rockers. But I have the frame and undercarriage fully immersed in this product. Works well and boosts the existing GM frame wax. Its far better than oil products like Fluid Film. The frame, everything underneath is doing quite well the past 5 years. RP-342 undercarriage pics. Water beading up.

Its amber colored. So rather unlike undercoating or a black spray the parts still maintain their color to some extent. Sprayed right over rubber bushings.

Why RP-342 is superior to oil sprays. If this were oil winter sand, dirt, grime would be stuck to everything. Instead, nothing. Not even water sticks.
