I went to get these STS wheels mounted, balanced and put on my car. The tire size is 235/50/17. The guy at the tire place said that there was some rubbing on the front tires.

Is there something wrong with my car? I thought I wouldn't have a problem. Any thoughts?

Is it possible that the tires might rub while there is no weight on them, but once the car is off the jack there won't be any rubbing?

I'm pretty sure that they are all the same size. I haven't seen the stamp "rear only" on any of them.

This is how they were described to me:
17x7.5 Alloy, silver in the inserts. Backspace is 6.25". Numbers on wheel are: 17x7 1/2 J51 9594179 USA.

Well, then if theyre all the same size, you shouldn't be getting rubbing should you, since you are running an OEM tire size?

The OEM tire size for my CTS was 225/50/16. So it is a different size. But I still shouldn't be rubbing.

Do you think the guy at the tire place was wrong and I should be OK? Should I put the tires on and see if there is some rubbing when I drive?
