I'm going to replace my struts (because they're old & I'm doing lowering springs, anyways) but I don't know if I have SSS or electronic suspension. How can I tell the difference? Does anyone know the RPO codes for each? Thanks.

If you have the 4.9 liter engine, you have SSS. If you have the northstar engine, you have RSS.

I think the shocks and struts were the same either way. The difference is with the modules. The way they sense the road, and the way they sense if anything is bad. For example the SSS system measured resistance through the wires going to the dampering valves to sense if they were good or not, and with the RSS system the way it sensed if the dampering valves were good or not was by measuring the inductive frequency of the coil in the valve. The dampering valves are the same but the way of checking them differed.
