My 2023 DE has a cracked glass roof. Garage parking at home, and covered at work. This seems to be a manufacture defect to me, any thoughts? I bring it to service tomorrow.
I dont see a protective coating or film preventing this. Just add glass coverage to your insurance. It'll cost you a whopping $50 deductible if it happens again.Great idea, I'll definitely pursue this!
I didn’t even know that was a thing. Definitely need to look on to it!I dont see a protective coating or film preventing this. Just add glass coverage to your insurance. It'll cost you a whopping $50 deductible if it happens again.
Stupid me forgot to search! Found it and I'll delete this thread.did you search? the reason i say this is that someone not long ago had a similar complaint
There have been a few like this posted in the FB group.Same issue for me. The glass roof of my 2023 DE Lyriq developed a long crack. I thought it was a stress crack (covered by warranty), but Cadillac says it was a stone chip (not covered by warranty).
In any event, my car insurance will pay to replace it (with zero deductible, which is remarkable!).
The repair shop I was sent to (that does only sunroofs), after some investigation, said they couldn't do it and so I was sent back to Cadillac (okayed by insurance). My dealer has zero idea when the part might be available. It feels like this is the first Lyriq roof to be replaced....ever.
Anyway, just curious if anyone has experience with how long this might take? Everyone I encounter seems clueless... View attachment 651899
They could have bumped the shark fin and dislodged a wire... That will have to be checked. We just had are fixed glass roof replaced on our 2024 lyric and not the radios does not work. Work while we drove it there and now it doesn’t. Does anyone know if there is any wire or connection to the glass or around the glass that could have gotten damaged?

The AM/FM antenna is not in the shark fin - just XM, cellular, and GPS in there. The low frequency AM/FM antenna has larger wires fitted inside the rear spoiler area (top of the liftgate). But they definitely could have unplugged this cable or related connections. They could have bumped the shark fin and dislodged a wire... That will have to be checked.
Today, 11/1/24 I was driving my new Lyriq with 300 miles on it when the Sun roof shattered on the freeway. I was traveling at 65 mph and it sounded like a bomb. Entire sunroof shattered with flying glass chipping the paint. Dealer in Thousand Oaks stepped up and gave me a brand new Lyriq loaner. Not sure if they will fix car or replace. One month of ownership and the roof started out as a crack in the back right hand corner with only 1k of miles. They told me it’s on me. Who is "they"? Your dealer? Cadillac? Can they show you an impact point? If they can, then it would be on you. If not, they should step up.One month of ownership and the roof started out as a crack in the back right hand corner with only 1k of miles. They told me it’s on me. I’m not happy

I have had my Lyriq for two months. All of a sudden there is cracks in the roof spidered from the middle edge driver's side. Service department wants $3000 to replace it. Ridiculous! This has to be a quality or engineering defect. Teslas don't crack like this!We do truly understand how this crack in the roof of your LYRIQ has created frustration and difficulty to you. So, is your dealer claiming that it is from impact damage? If so, make them identify the point of impact (if caused by an impact, the point of impact will be obvious). If they can't, they need to replace under warranty. Push them and Cadillac to step up if they can't prove impact damage.I have had my Lyriq for two months.
