This is getting pretty big in the news right now, I found the video of it...
Apparently the police claimed that the 65 year old grandpa was drunk and resisting arrest. Now, if 3 policemen can't hold down an old grandpa (who was later found to be SOBER) and then they beat him (and try to hide it from the camera by walking their horse in front of it) you know somethings out of wack...:cookoo:

That's overboard, but if you resist arrest, you're going to be taken down.

Rodney King should have been shot in the back of the head after he was beaten down, and the world would have been a better place. Multiple convictions, he was known as a violent drug addict, he was on PCP when he was subdued, he feigned to give himself up and when an officer, who I believe was a woman, got close enough to him he jumped up and rushed her again. He should not have been given a dime, he should have been chained for heavy labor. Rodney King is scum.
We'll see what happens with this one though, if the guy who was resisting arrest really WAS doing anything wrong, then it's not so bad. Again, for those who choose to "miss" details when they read, these acts were definately overboard, but if you're resisting arrest, you WILL be subdued, there is nothing wrong with that. The guy on the horse blocking the camera was doing nothing wrong, only protecting those who protect him in the field. I'm sure he knew what was happening was wrong. He did what he could in a high tension situation with no time to think, and probably what he's been trained to do anyways.

Did we watch the same video? I saw an old black man, hancuffed, pressed up against a wall, getting repeated fists to the back of the head.

Then i saw a police officer charge a cameraman, because the policemen knew he got caught redhanded.

Rodney King may have been the worst of the worse, but getting a baton to the back of the skull 81 times is STILL overboard. I'd think that he would have probably got the point after 21 times, they didn't have to do it 60 more times after that. Also, the fact that it was a known thing to occur before (and after) King didn't help. He was lucky because he got it on tape, but plenty of others didn't. I remember Ice T had been telling everyone about how the LAPD treated blacks, but nobody toom him seriously until this...
