300 miles

4:36 hr onboard Timer (on time only, includes going through towns and 2 pit stops)

65 MPH avg

12.5 Gal used (premium)

24 MPG (avg)

Road Coolant temps 192-197

Also includes two high speed passing maneuvers--topping at ~120 MPH  I'm sure they affected the MPG.

Very nice. I have never gotten 24 mpg. Of course I can't keep my foot out of it so I can't blame the car. I live in Southern California and go to Vegas quite a bit, mostly desert on the trip so I'm often able to run near 130 without any traffic if I leave at the right time. Think that has anything to do with my crappy mileage? LOL

Steady as a rock at high speeds!

Happy New Year everyone!

I did 292 miles at 60mph on Cruise Control on Sunday.
I was very careful and the display rea 29.7mpg Average.
If it wasn't for a lot of hills near the end it would have been reading 30.2MPG Ave as it had for the first 200 miles of the journey.

Last big road trip in my ETC was this time last year. I only remember the numbers from the Ohio - Albuquerque leg. Covered the near 1600mi in under 24 hours, averaged 69mph, got 25.7mpg, including plenty of passing manuvers and about 20 miles of sustained 150mph. After that trip, the 1600mi in 36hrs San Antonio trip (to pick up a Taurus SHO,) and my very recent 1300mi in 24hrs Tulsa trip (to pick up a 500, 472, TH400, and other trans.) I now have a self-imposed limit of 800mi/day.

I forgot to add, that the trip was done on US 281 (vs I-35, to avoid traffic), which goes through the hill country. I was getting anywhere from 10-12 going uphill at 75mph to 70+ downhill.

Wow davesdeville, 20 mi of sustained 150mph! where was the RPM needle?

I tried to get to the limiter, but only managed ~ 120 because my field of vision was getting shorter as the stretch of road went over the hill. Windnoise is prominent at that speed.

Hello...

Christmas weekend trip from Atlanta to Tampa in the 2000 STS.
The numbers look good:
950 mi
36 gal
26.3 mpg
14 hrs
68 mph (w/o cruise...thick holiday weekend traffic)
I am very pleased.

My next trip won't be on a holiday weekend.
I'm looking forward to cruise control @ 70 mph.
