Ride quality - Sport vs Premium Luxury

I had my 2020 Sport in for service and got a 2021 Premium Luxury as a loaner.
My Sport has the 21" wheels with Michelin tires. The Premium Luxury had 20" Continentals.
My Sport rides wonderfully. Absorbs small bumps, can't even feel/hear breaks in the pavement, yet is tight around corners.
Anyway when I got the PL I assumed it would be a more "cushy" ride with the taller sidewall and suspension difference.
Totally surprised. The PL rode rough, heard and felt every bump in the road and was basically not a good ride.
Even my wife noticed the difference right away.
Checked the tire inflation thinking the tires were overinflated, but they were spot on. Only about 3,000 miles on the odometer.
I'm assuming it has to be the tires. Can't imagine what else it could be.
Anyone else found a difference in ride quality between the two trim levels? I was stunned thinking the ride quality should be the other way around!
Obviously I'm not complaining since my ride is great! Just an observation.

Not sure tires on the Sport, but the Michelin Primacy Tours on the Premium Luxury are trash.

Can’t recall last time I’ve experienced such a LOUD and hard tire.

Test drove a Luxury model with standard equipment and impressed with how smooth and quiet it was…typical Cadillac.

My Premium Luxury has the upgraded suspensions and like you said can feel, and especially HEAR every pit, pebble, ripple, expansion joint, etc. in the road. Very unbecoming of a supposed luxury vehicle.

Unfortunately tires passed inspection so Michelin wouldn’t do anything. If I want to replace, on my own dime.

Upgraded from XT6 Premium Luxury to Sport . 21 Continentals . Ride quality improved on Sport . While the PL rode decent . The Sport has improved road manners. Braking vastly improved with the big Brembo front red calipers. ( looks nice too ) . Sport has better shocks ( magnetic electonic ) where a computer is constantly monitoring road conditions .Steering may be more responsive too . Think Cadillac calls it real time road sensing suspension . Sport is worth the increased $$$ .
