I have a 1968 Coupe Deville that has had a lot of aftermarket add ons like a digital dash, cd player, excessive stereo amps, etc. that the previous owner had. I slowly want to replace the original speedometer and instrument cluster, and maybe just keep the radio...in the meantime I need some serious rewiring done. The work is so crappy it's caused numerous shorts in the amp, convertible switch, rear running lights, seat switches (also not original, but from a '94 fleetwood) etc.

The real problem is finding someone who can do this work and be honest about it, especially in LA-I know such a cliche. Most places do simple audio installations.

If you have any recommendations I'd greatly appreciate it, hours of exhaustive searching has still given me only a few options. The car is willing to travel about an hour from here if it means good work will be done.

If you're stuck like me, so far I've found the following places online which seem to do more electric repair than other misc auto and have decent reviews.

Souren Auto Electric-North Hollywood
Guido's Auto Electric-North Hollywood
Nick's Auto Electric- Valley Village
Miron's Auto Electric- Chatsworth (licensed with the state)
Hugos' Auto Electric- Mid City/Jefferson
Real Auto Electric-Between Huntington Pk/Southgate (licensed but only 2 reviews)

I'll also follow up if I have any luck, and I'll start calling these guys Monday

Thanks

That's what I'm afraid of. Problem is I'm not good with cars, let alone electrical. If it were just a stereo add on I might try to get into it myself, but it really looks like wires have been vomited throughout the car. Every normal mechanic I've taken it to for other jobs has always said I need to find an expert. Hence the exhaustive search.
